At Hungry Hound, we’re all about making your dog's tail wag with joy! The idea sparked a couple of summers ago when my wife and I, proud new parents to our rescue pup Romeo from Street Dog Hero, were on our way to Bend’s OnTap food cart lot and my wife jokingly said “I wish we could bring Romeo, I wish there was a food cart just for dogs!”. We laughed about the idea for a few minutes, burgers, hot dogs, platters, desserts…. then a light bulb went off in my head!

As a lifelong dog lover and with my background as a culinary student at Cascade Culinary Institute as well as a serial entrepreneur, I dove into canine nutrition and food truck know-how. By April 20, 2024, Hungry Hound was born: Central Oregon’s first food cart just for dogs! Bend’s dog-loving community embraced us, with one happy customer saying, “I didn’t realize there was such a big hole in Bend till you plugged it!”

Seeing pups devour their ¼ Hounder with cheese, served on a frisbee with sweet potato fries and rice with gravy, is pure magic. We’ve brought tail-wagging fun to Bend with events like WoofFest and the Doggolympics in 2024 and 2025, Eugene’s first-ever Doggolympics on September 14, 2025 at Alton Baker Park, and a Portland Doggolympics planned for June 6th 2026..

In early 2025, we perfected our gently cooked and raw, fresh dog food line, now available in local stores like Bend Pet Express, Newport Market, Local Acres and Locavore or for home delivery across the PNW through our subscription service. At Hungry Hound, we’re not just feeding dogs—we’re creating moments of joy for pups and their people!
